EHEDG (founded in 1989) is a European non-governmental organisation aimed at promoting hygienic design and food technology to ensure safe consumer products. This is done with the help of standards, recommendations and certifications written and compiled by members from different areas, including equipment manufacturers, food industries, research institutes and public health authorities. EHEDG is now the most global player in the field. The USA’s equivalent, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is well-known and respected, but EHEDG’s standards are regarded as leading also outside of Europe.

EHEDG membership shows that Axelent cares about hygienic design and maintaining the highest standards. The more controlled and regulated the food industry becomes, the safer the products that reach the consumer.
