Meet Christophe Levacher, Area Sales Manager

Some Axelent employees can call themselves true veterans. One of them is Frenchman and area sales manager Christophe Levacher, who’s been with the company for 19 years.

Christophe Levacher has spent a large part of his career at Axelent. For 19 years, this 51-year-old Frenchman, a film and music buff, has been an important part of the team at the office in Saint Romain de Colbosc in northern France.

Christophe, an international business graduate, now works as area sales manager with responsibility for northern and western France and the Paris area. That he loves his job is pretty obvious.

Can you describe your typical working day?
“It depends on whether I’m working out of the office or in the field. When I’m travelling, I visit between four and six existing and prospective customers a day. And when I’m at the office, I’m mostly kept busy following up quotations and booking meetings and visits with existing and potential customers. This is combined with regular meetings with the marketing department.”

How would you describe the corporate culture at Axelent?
“What makes us unique and characterises the entire Axelent culture is that every employee does all they can to meet and fulfil our customers’ needs. And our strength is that we can deliver such high-quality products with very short lead times while also being a strong organisation, a recognised and well-reputed brand. This gives customers great peace of mind and earns us their trust.”

What’s Axelent like as an employer?
“The first and most important thing that comes to mind is probably that Axelent is an employer that has confidence in and trusts its employees. And that you have a great deal of freedom in your work. I appreciate that.”

What makes a good area sales manager?
“I think the most important thing is that you have the ability to listen to and truly understand your customers’ needs. And that, based on this, you can propose solutions and suggest the most suitable products. I think this is the alpha and omega of success.”

What’s the best part of your job?
“What I like most is interacting with customers and getting the chance to meet so many different people. And that I also get the opportunity to gain their confidence and help them to solve their problems.”

What’s the most challenging part of your job?
“That’s probably the fact that the job involves so much time behind the wheel. It can get a little tedious at times, but on the other hand, you have plenty of time to come up with smart solutions.”

What’s your best advice for anyone who is interested in working at Axelent?
“Take the opportunity and apply! If you want a varied and challenging job that’s also extremely good fun, then Axelent is the place for you. I promise you won’t regret it.”
