Tell us a little about yourself!

“Hi, I’m Simon! My wife Kate and I have two wonderful kids, Patrick (6) and Jack (4), who keep our lives exciting and very busy. I grew up on the Yorke Peninsula, where I developed a love for the outdoors and enjoyed being part of a close-knit community. In 1998, my family moved to Adelaide, where I made lifelong friends while discovering my passion for music. I also love fishing, camping, and taking weekend trips whenever I get the chance! I’m currently studying a double Diploma of Leadership and Management and Business Procurement, which has been an excellent opportunity to expand my skills and knowledge”.

What did you do before joining Axelent?

“Before joining Axelent, I gained experience in a variety of industries. I worked in hospitality, maintenance and construction as well as working in the printing industry. These roles gave me valuable insight into diversity, teamwork as well as problem-solving, which have been incredibly useful with my current role”.

What does your role as an Internal Support Manager entail and what is your primary focus?

“My role at Axelent Australia is to provide support across the business, ensuring smooth processes and clear communication for all team members. I work closely with Drew, our Managing Director, to align operations with organisational goals and objectives, while supporting the warehouse team to maintain efficiency and productivity. I’m involved in training, guiding, and motivating team members to help them succeed, as well as monitoring performance, providing feedback, and assisting with setting goals and expectations. I also manage the business’s main purchasing responsibilities, including planning and ordering stock containers from our head office in Sweden and coordinating with local suppliers to ensure resources are effectively utilised. My focus is on supporting both the Australian team and our European partners by encouraging open communication, ensuring seamless processes, and helping the team deliver successful outcomes.”

What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?

“Aside from working with such a loyal and fun team, the best part of my job is seeing the whole process come together. From an enquiry coming in, to the order being processed, delivered, and installed, it’s incredibly satisfying to see happy customers who have invested in safety upgrades using our products. Our customers positive feedback makes all our effort worthwhile”.

If someone asked you what it’s like to work at Axelent, what would you say?

“Working at Axelent is fun, exciting, and rewarding. It’s a place where you truly feel your work makes a difference. Every team member brings dedication, effort, and a strong work ethic. It’s a supportive environment that empowers you to excel while building valuable skills.”

Safety is Axelent’s core business. What does safety mean to you?

“To me, safety is about creating an environment where risks are identified, managed effectively, and addressed proactively. This allows every team member to work with confidence and peace of mind. Taking responsibility for safety should be a priority for everyone in the workplace, and our team is proud to be at the forefront of promoting this in Australia. At Axelent, safety is at the heart of everything we do, and I’m incredibly proud to contribute to that culture.”
